Meet the Team

Paul and Barry are the intrepid duo that currently runs the whole operation. Barry is the marketing wizard based in the US, and Paul is the senior developer muscle behind the scenes on all your projects based in Estonia.

Our Mission

Paul has spent years working as a manager at an Estonian software engineering agency prior to transitioning to development himself. He saw first hand how incredibly broken and inefficient the modern software engineering process is, after having been involved as a client liaison on numerous sizeable projects.He saw people’s frustration with:

  • the glacial speed of the “agile” method constant 5-figure/month invoices without much tangible progress
  • timelines that almost never followed set expectations and were infinitely elastic despite hourly billing
  • discovery phases that continued for 3+ months just to end up not matching reality on the ground when development started
  • bloated, over-engineered tech stacks
  • oversized teams where a single person could have done everything in a few weeks constant
  • hiring behind the scenes for each new project, while claiming there’s an in-house team of hundreds
  • subcontracting to freelancers and other agencies

And he had to just sit there on calls with clients and reassure them that everything was “fine”, and that the team just needs a bit more money.

It was then that he firmly decided to dive deep into software engineering himself, and one day create a company that will actually serve people and create measurable value for businesses without any of the bloat and shady practices.The result of those efforts is LegitWebDev Studio.

How We Work

The traditional development approach was egregious even before AI. But now, with all the agentic tools - it was completely unacceptable and had to be re-imagined from the ground up.

We Templatize

Our first and biggest productivity gain comes from the fact that we productize and templatize everything we do. We never just start with a blank project. If there are any systems that we’re implementing on a current project that could be reused on another, we make sure to include that in our foundation project scaffolding.

UI components like drop-downs and carousels, backend dashboard, booking calendar logic, media gallery organization and api, blog editor code -you name them. There’s absolutely zero reason for those things to be bespoke for every client.

So when working with us you’re essentially paying for not just a bespoke service, but also all the accumulated engineering expertise in the form of working, pre-made systems that we can add to your project from day 1. In effect, a lot of foundational, universally useful functionality development is actually happening between the projects rather than landing in your invoice. While your project focuses on thigs that are specifically unique to your business and actually need to be unique.

While not universally useful or perfect in any way, agentic AI coding tools have matured significantly from where they were in 2023-2024. We are now firmly in the realm of AI writing reliably functional code 99% of the time in absolutely inhuman quantities.

It’s definitely less readable the more you vibe. But there are lots of instances where that doesn’t actually matter a lot. Or where AI being able to read its own slop is more than enough to get to the result we need.

So, we are actively using AI, and constantly testing new ways to integrate it deeper into our process, while making sure we maintain control of the most crucial parts concerning security, authentication, payments, and complex UI and layouts.

Our websites and stores are engineered to let you compete in the big leagues and even potentially beat some of the bigger players on Google. Because those big Private Equity rollups are most often assembled out of bloated page builders and cumbersome CMS/FSM software on the backend. Which adds tons of overhead both to their site’s speed and business’ bottom line.Meaning that having a lean site with only necessary functionality on the backend that costs almost nothing to maintain is a powerful weapon for a local business owner that can make a difference in a crowded market.
